Denver Metro has 11 Year Proven Success with Poly-Triplex
(manhole pictured as found, not cleaned)
- This manhole was lined with a Poly-Triplex liner 11 years ago for Denver Metro Wastewater Reclamation District. The manhole sits atop a six foot diameter trunk line and had severe corrosion due to high levels of H2S and infiltration.
- In 2004, Denver Metro engineers inspected the liner and found it to be free of any defects, infiltration or deterioration. They also inspected PVC and epoxy spray-on products installed in manholes on the same trunk line and found them to have failed after being in service for half the time of the Poly-Triplex liner.
- Denver Metro engineers took three core samples of the Poly-Triplex liner and found that is was maintaining a superior bond to the original pre-cast manhole. Denver Metro anticipates this to be the case for decades to come and plan on using the Poly-Triplex Lining system for future projects.
- To date, Guildner Pipeline Maintenance, Inc. has installed Poly-Triplex liners in approximately 50 manholes on a similar trunk line for Denver Metro. We are currently in the process of installing liners in another 30 manholes on the same line.
