The Problem:H2S and other dangerous sewer gasses corrode the interior of manholes, pump stations and other sewage infrastructure. Fissures caused by this corrosion can allow infiltration from groundwater to enter the wastewater system and be treated along with the wastewater, which means municipalities lose thousands of gallons of water and thousands of dollars in overloaded treatment systems. Seriously deteriorated sewer infrastructure also jeopardizes the integrity of sewage system containment, adding to the risk of collapsed manholes or release of sewer gasses into the environment. The EPA has estimated that more than $300 billion must be spent by our nation over the next 20 years to restore this critical infrastructure. Traditional methods of rehabilitation can add to the cost of restoration because spray-on epoxies, cementitious products, polyurethane coatings and other methods do not protect infrastructure from deterioration while adding structural integrity. Additionally, the application of these products requires the disruption of wastewater services in a process that can take days to complete. The life expectancy of these products is only a few years at best, which means repeated application is necessary for maintenance. Municipalities demand a wastewater rehabilitation system that is a value-engineered product — it should be fast, reliable and cost-efficient. The Poly-Triplex process meets this need by sealing infrastructure from inflow, infiltration and exfiltration while providing structural reinforcement like no other product on the market. The Solution:Guildner Pipeline Maintenance, Inc. is the sole licensed installer of the state-of-the-art Poly-Triplex liner system in Colorado and surrounding areas. Poly-Triplex liners are composed of two layers of structural fiberglass saturated with epoxy resin around an impenetrable inner membrane. Installation is begun with a cleaning of the structure to be rehabilitated before placing the liner within the structure. The liner is applied and cured using a patented pressurized bladder that is steam-heated, binding the liner to the structure surface. The installation and curing process is completed in a matter of hours, with minimal disruption of sewage service. Guildner Pipeline Maintenance, Inc. employs safety-certified experts in the installation of the liner system. Our crews can install the product quickly and safely, requiring no subcontractors. After installation, the liner system materials are guaranteed to last 10 years and have a 100-year life expectancy. Because of its outstanding resistance to corrosion and ability to withstand environmental hazards and root-intrusion from trees, maintenance of the Poly-Triplex system is minimal. An audit of early installations of the Poly-Triplex liner system has produced zero claims on the 10-year warranty. Liners installed 13 years ago still look new. Engineers who were able to take advantage of Poly-Triplex immediately when it was created were able to rehabilitate wastewater systems and never have to revisit them. |
